class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Date and time<\/strong>: Around 16:10 on January 1, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Epicenter<\/strong>: Noto Region, Ishikawa Prefecture<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Magnitude<\/strong>: 7.6 \/ Maximum seismic intensity: 7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Damage in Niigata Prefecture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list ptn_ul\">\n<li>Seismic intensity of 5+ to 6\u2212 was observed in Niigata City and other areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building damage was particularly severe in Niigata City, accounting for a large share of the total number of damaged buildings in the prefecture.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Housing Damage (Prefecture-wide)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list ptn_ul\">\n<li>Completely destroyed: 109 buildings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Partially destroyed: 4,122 buildings (including within Niigata City)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Partially damaged \/ other damage: Numerous reports<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview of Liquefaction Damage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list ptn_ul\">\n<li>Widespread liquefaction occurred mainly in Nishi Ward and Konan Ward of Niigata City.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Damage such as settlement and tilting was confirmed on roads, residential land, class=\"wp-block-heading\">Damage Comparison: TNF Method vs. Conventional Methods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We conducted an on-site comparative survey in affected areas of Niigata City following the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, comparing buildings constructed with the TNF method and buildings using conventional methods.<br>Despite widespread reports of liquefaction damage, we no damage to the building itself, cracks caused by ground settlement occurred in exterior areas (such as the parking lot) outside the TNF improvement zone.<br>This survey demonstrated the effectiveness of the TNF method in mitigating liquefaction damage, and also clarified that expanding the improvement area to include exterior zones can further reduce damage across the entire
